A THANKFUL HEART

A person with a thankful heart recognizes waking up to a new day is a blessing. It is a gift from God.

He praises the Lord instead of complaining. He knows people are praying for the things he has and that his circumstances could be worse.

A person with a thankful heart has joy. The joy of Jesus.

He tells the Lord, "Thank You." Not only because of stuff or for what the Lord has done does he thank Him, but just because of who He is.

It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High;
To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning,
And Your faithfulness every night,
On an instrument of ten strings,
On the lute,
And on the harp,
With harmonious sound.
For You, Lord, have made me glad through Your work;
I will triumph in the works of Your hands. Psalm 92:1-4

Happy Thanksgiving!

Be blessed.

TO EVERYTHING THERE IS A SEASON

Whether we like it or not, seasons change. We can embrace the change or not, but still, it happens. We are forever learning in life and there is certainly something to be learned in each season we enter.

I have learned to embrace the cycle. Some seasons lasts longer than others. That makes me really excited, especially when it seems everything is going my way and trouble has not found me. When a season brings trouble, I desire the power to press the fast forward button and slide into the next season. I cannot do that, so I flow with what God is doing in my life.

Instead of fighting against the turn of a new season, get excited about the chance to learn something new or to see life from a different perspective.

To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven:
A time to be born,
    And a time to die;
A time to plant,
    And a time to pluck what is planted;
A time to kill,
    And a time to heal;
A time to break down,
    And a time to build up;
A time to weep,
    And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn,
    And a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones,
    And a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace,
    And a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to gain,
    And a time to lose;
A time to keep,
    And a time to throw away;
A time to tear,
    And a time to sew;
A time to keep silence,
    And a time to speak;
A time to love,
    And a time to hate;
A time of war,
    And a time of peace. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Be blessed.

IN GOD I WILL TRUST

Whenever I am afraid,
I will trust in You. Psalm 56:3

Just by turning on the radio or t.v. we hear of frightening events taking place not only in other countries, but America as well. No place on this earth is exempt from murders, illnesses, violations, etc. Hearing of such things day after day might cause many to live in fear. I sometimes think back to when I was a young girl and reading and hearing about the days when people could leave their windows and doors open without fearing harm or danger. The children in the neighborhood played together and parents looked after them, whether they belonged to them or not. Long gone are those days.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7

God does not want us to live in fear. As believers, we know this. Strange and scary things are happening all around us and if we fail to remember who we are to depend on and completely trust, fear could overtake us.

It is God we trust. He is our Protector. He has us in His hands. There is no safer place to be than in the hands of the Creator.

Be blessed.

STARTING MY DAY WITH PRAYER

Some people start their day with a cup of coffee, but prayer starts my day. After all, my alarm clock did not wake me. A cup of coffee did not wake me. My Father woke me up this morning. He gave me the breath I needed to open my eyes to see this new day.

I can set aside any time of the day to pray, but I prefer early morning prayer when it is peaceful and no distractions. Prayer refreshes my soul. It gives me the extra strength I need to face whatever might come my way. A popular commercial from the past, says"Milk, it does a body good. Pass it on." I say, "Prayer, it does a body good. Pass it on."

Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed. Mark 1:35

Be blessed.
