A SAVIOR IS BORN

Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. 10 Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:
14 “Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” Luke 2:8-14

We take this time to celebrate the birth of Jesus. He is the reason for every season.

                      Merry Christmas!

BLESSED WHILE WAITING

My trip to the dealership for an oil change is normally performed in less than one hour with an appointment, but today the wait for my car to be serviced was unusually long. I didn't mind because I engaged in a great and encouraging conversation with a stranger. Anytime you want to talk about Jesus, everything is put away and the clock no longer exists. You have my attention. I had a long wait, but because of this, I was encouraged by a stranger.

A long wait can cause frustration and aggravation to a person, but it can be a blessing. A long wait in one place may prevent you from being in another place, avoiding some unwanted circumstance. A long wait can position you to be in a place to receive favor right where you are. It can also allow you to have a chance meeting with someone to encourage you or change your world.

I was blessed in so many ways by the words that poured from the stranger's mouth. I really hate our talk had to end so soon. No, I didn't get her name, but I did tell her to look me up on Facebook if she wants. Maybe she will. Maybe she won't. Maybe the Lord caused our paths to cross to encourage one another for that time and that time only. No matter what happens, I'm grateful for my long wait today.

Be blessed.

A THANKFUL HEART

A person with a thankful heart recognizes waking up to a new day is a blessing. It is a gift from God.

He praises the Lord instead of complaining. He knows people are praying for the things he has and that his circumstances could be worse.

A person with a thankful heart has joy. The joy of Jesus.

He tells the Lord, "Thank You." Not only because of stuff or for what the Lord has done does he thank Him, but just because of who He is.

It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High;
To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning,
And Your faithfulness every night,
On an instrument of ten strings,
On the lute,
And on the harp,
With harmonious sound.
For You, Lord, have made me glad through Your work;
I will triumph in the works of Your hands. Psalm 92:1-4

Happy Thanksgiving!

Be blessed.

TO EVERYTHING THERE IS A SEASON

Whether we like it or not, seasons change. We can embrace the change or not, but still, it happens. We are forever learning in life and there is certainly something to be learned in each season we enter.

I have learned to embrace the cycle. Some seasons lasts longer than others. That makes me really excited, especially when it seems everything is going my way and trouble has not found me. When a season brings trouble, I desire the power to press the fast forward button and slide into the next season. I cannot do that, so I flow with what God is doing in my life.

Instead of fighting against the turn of a new season, get excited about the chance to learn something new or to see life from a different perspective.

To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven:
A time to be born,
    And a time to die;
A time to plant,
    And a time to pluck what is planted;
A time to kill,
    And a time to heal;
A time to break down,
    And a time to build up;
A time to weep,
    And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn,
    And a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones,
    And a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace,
    And a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to gain,
    And a time to lose;
A time to keep,
    And a time to throw away;
A time to tear,
    And a time to sew;
A time to keep silence,
    And a time to speak;
A time to love,
    And a time to hate;
A time of war,
    And a time of peace. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

IN GOD I WILL TRUST

Whenever I am afraid,
I will trust in You. Psalm 56:3

Just by turning on the radio or t.v. we hear of frightening events taking place not only in other countries, but America as well. No place on this earth is exempt from murders, illnesses, violations, etc. Hearing of such things day after day might cause many to live in fear. I sometimes think back to when I was a young girl and reading and hearing about the days when people could leave their windows and doors open without fearing harm or danger. The children in the neighborhood played together and parents looked after them, whether they belonged to them or not. Long gone are those days.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7

God does not want us to live in fear. As believers, we know this. Strange and scary things are happening all around us and if we fail to remember who we are to depend on and completely trust, fear could overtake us.

It is God we trust. He is our Protector. He has us in His hands. There is no safer place to be than in the hands of the Creator.

Be blessed.

STARTING MY DAY WITH PRAYER

Some people start their day with a cup of coffee, but prayer starts my day. After all, my alarm clock did not wake me. A cup of coffee did not wake me. My Father woke me up this morning. He gave me the breath I needed to open my eyes to see this new day.

I can set aside any time of the day to pray, but I prefer early morning prayer when it is peaceful and no distractions. Prayer refreshes my soul. It gives me the extra strength I need to face whatever might come my way. A popular commercial from the past, says"Milk, it does a body good. Pass it on." I say, "Prayer, it does a body good. Pass it on."

Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed. Mark 1:35

HE IS A MIGHTY GOD

When God answers you, the answers might not come in a way you ever imagined or expected. He will use anyone or anything. God is awesome like that.

Be open to the unlimited ways in which God moves and works. He is a mighty God. God almighty! He makes ways out of no way. He makes impossibilities become possibilities. He brings dead things to life. Yes. He will resurrect the things you call dead. Dreams you thought were dead and gone, God will breathe upon them and give them life.

Oh! What a mighty God we serve!!

"But our God is in heaven;
He does whatever He pleases." Psalm 115:3

JESUS WILL TAKE CARE OF IT

Some of you woke up this morning with worries you had on your mind last night. Instead of giving them over to Jesus, you have chosen to hold on to them. Cast your cares upon Him. He wants your mind to be at peace throughout the day every day. Jesus wants you to have sweet sleep. There is no need to worry when you are trusting Jesus to work it all out for you.

Do you want the same? You can have it. Do as the Word says:

"Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7

LET YOUR FAITH SUSTAIN YOU

Look beyond what you see in the natural. God is doing something. Your faith has to kick in when you cannot see all He is doing. Faith has to sustain you as you wait. It has to sustain you while an ugly situation becomes beautiful. Your faith has to sustain you when nothing seems to be going right and all things around you seem to be falling apart.

Keep your faith. Do not lose it in times of uncertainty or testing. All things are working for your good.

Be blessed.

WHAT'S BLOCKING YOU?

Bitterness, anger, envy, jealousy, wickedness, etc. will not better a person. In fact, they are blockers. They are blessing blockers, friend blockers, love blockers, just to name a few. Harboring such negativity and performing wicked acts can block the flow of great and positive things from happening in your life.

One might find it hard to let go of such emotions, but there is help. Jesus is our Helper. Jesus has the power to do what we cannot do. He can uproot every negative influence that has caused you to believe these experiences have control or power of you. Do not let these blockers remain in or become a part of your life.

Be blessed.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME

Tick tock. Tick tock goes the clock.

Time is passing by. It's precious. It's to be treated as such and not wasted. We can't get back the time we've lost. We should make the decision to make the best use of the time we have left. Invest time into your dreams. Use it to do something wonderful and purposeful. Most importantly, spend quality time with the Creator, the One who made you and me.

See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise,  redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. Ephesians 5:15-17

TRUST GOD AND HIS WAYS

Wait on the Lord;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord! Psalm 27:14

During a wait, whether short or long, you might begin to doubt that your desires will be met or question how they will be met. Then confirmation from the Lord comes. He speaks to your heart, "I open doors. I close doors. Trust Me. Trust My timing. Praise Me during your wait. Trust My Word."

God's confirmation settles the mind and erases the doubt and your questioning. Confirmation gives you peace during the wait. Trust Him. Trust God and all His ways.

Be blessed.

WORRYING WON'T CHANGE A THING

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God." Philippians 4:6

Worrying isn't beneficial for anyone. It gives you something to do but it won't get you anywhere. You know the saying, "Worrying is like a rocking chair-it's always in motion, but it never gets you anywhere." It's a negative thought and a lot of times, the negative thought turns out to be just that, a negative thought. Most things you worry about never happen.

It's normal to be concerned about situations and the bad things that take place in this world, but we have to be careful not to let the devil cause us to get to the point of being concerned beyond reason or to worry.

How do you keep yourself from worrying?

"Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:6,7

Worrying won't change a thing for you, but trusting in Jesus will. Humble yourself and cast your cares upon Him. The time spent constantly worrying about a situation you can't change can be spent praising Jesus for working it out for you. He cares for you.

Be blessed.

GOD'S SILENCE IS NOT HIS ABSENCE

At some point in life, you might find yourself asking God the following questions:

"Where are You?"

 "Do You hear me?"

 "Do You care?"

When we call out to God, we are prepared to hear from Him, but sometimes there is silence. In these times it feels like God is far from us and and some might feel like pulling away. Do not pull away from God. Draw closer to Him. Keep seeking Him. God's silence is not His absence, nor does it mean that He does not hear your prayers.

"Evening and morning and at noon
I will pray, and cry aloud,
And He shall hear my voice." Psalm 55:17

"Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
If I take the wings of the morning,
And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10 Even there Your hand shall lead me,
And Your right hand shall hold me." Psalm 139:7-10

Be blessed.

GOD HAS SOMETHING BETTER FOR YOU

When it is time to walk away, walk away. God has a good plan for your life and obviously, it never included or no longer includes whatever it is you should walk away from now. It is not always easy to do, but trust Him. Trust His direction. Yes, you have to walk away, but understand, it is in order to walk to something better.

Walking away from something we wish to hold on to or do not feel quite ready to leave, often causes disappointment. Trusting the perfect God who makes all things good causes that disappointment to fade. Look ahead. Get excited. Keep your eyes open. God has something better coming your way.

"God having provided something better for us, that they should not be made perfect apart from us." Hebrews 11:40

SPRING INTO ACTION

There is a time for planning and a time to action. Some people are stuck in the planning stage of something they have been dreaming about for some time. Dreaming, planning, and planning and more planning seems to be the cycle, year after year. There comes a time when one has to move away from planning and spring into action.

Fear and a lack of faith are reasons a person never takes the steps necessary to fulfill a dream. There is fear of failing at the dream and/or there is a fear of being successful because it may require additional responsibilities and obligations. There is a lack of faith that one can accomplish the dream or that God can bring the dream to pass. One must develop courage and operate in faith to go after their dreams.

We cannot expect what we want to just fall before us. To obtain something requires some action on our part. Do not question whether or not you can do it. Believe you can and remember "I can do all things through which strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13). Now that you have prayed about it and planned it, are you ready to spring into action?

Be blessed.

YOU CAN MAKE IT

When you are going through a rough time or facing a tough situation, it is not unusual to think, "I can't make it." Do not receive that lie! The lie is you cannot get through the rough time. The lie is you cannot face the tough situation and come out victorious. It is the truth of God that matters and not Satan's lies.

The truth is you can make it. Sometimes you have to go through the bad, the uncomfortable, and the ugly stuff to get to the good stuff. Remember His promises. Pray to Him. Cry out to Him. Trust Him.

Trust in Him at all times, you people;
Pour out your heart before Him;
God is a refuge for us. Selah  Psalm 62:8

Be blessed.

THE LORD WILL FIGHT FOR YOU

Sometimes you might want to stand up and argue with some people when clearly they are wrong and you are right. You even have the evidence to support your argument and prove you are right. But before you act upon your feelings, you hear the Lord's voice and He says, "Do nothing. Let me fight this battle for you. I know it seems unfair but this is only a catalyst to get you to move from this place to another place. To the place where I want you to be."

So you see, things are not always what they appear to be. Trust the Lord. He is working things out for you and me. It is not always easy to do, but sometimes we have to keep our mouth closed and let the Lord do what He does. One thing we can always be sure of is that when the Lord fights our battles, we have no other choice but to come out on top.

"The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace." Exodus 14:14

A LITTLE CHANGE MATTERS

There are times when we are in need of change. We crave it. Yes, change happens whether we want it or not, but some changes are necessary and we must make them on our own. We cannot expect something different if we do not do something different. A little change can net big results.

A little change matters. If you want to lose a few pounds or just become a little healthier, small changes in your diet can lead to a big impact on your body. If you desire to expand your circle of friends or acquaintances but are not accustomed to getting out of the house, you must explore opportunities that allow you to meet others. Visiting local meet up groups or participating in community activities are just two of the many avenues that provides an opportunity to do just that. These are just a couple of examples of the many ways a small change in your routine can create a positive change.

Following the same routine everyday becomes mundane. In fact, you might possibly find yourself in a rut. Do not wait to make a needed change in your life. Do something different. Do it now.

Be blessed.

PRAY ABOUT IT BEFORE YOU GO ABOUT IT

There are times when we feel pressured to make a decision in a hurry or based on how we feel. If we are honest about it, I am sure we can remember when we made decisions in haste and without seeking God first. Money was spent when it was not necessary. Small messes became bigger messes. I could go on and on, but you get the point.

It is important to gather the necessary information needed to make the best decision. It is wise to seek counsel from others but most importantly, seek out what the Bible has to say about it. But before you do anything, pray about it before you go about it.

"Form your purpose by asking for counsel, then carry it out using all the help you can get." Proverbs 20:18 -The Message Bible

"Careful planning puts you ahead in the long run;
hurry and scurry puts you further behind." Proverbs 21:5 -The Message Bible

Be blessed.

TAKING CENTER STAGE

There are times when you must stay in the background or perform your work behind the scenes. Then there are times when you have to perform and take center stage. Don't think it's strange. God has a way of propelling us to new roles and to new levels at any time.

Timing is important in all you do. Most of us are guilty of making the right move at the wrong time. It felt right, so we acted based upon our feelings alone. When doing this, mistakes are often created. Well, more like messes. A mess can become a bigger mess. Seeking God first in all we do and following His lead will help avoid the messes and provide great successes.

Working in the background or behind the scenes is usually necessary to prepare you for a greater role. Once the preparation is complete, God will give you a gentle nudge to move out front. If needed, He will push you on to center stage.

"Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:6,7

Be blessed.

TODAY IS A NEW DAY

We have made mistakes and will continue to make them. We can allow mistakes to break us or make us. They can cause us to break if we choose to dwell on them and keep replaying them in our minds. The replays of what should have been done, said, or not done or said is enough to drive anyone mad or to the point of bitterness. What is done is done.

We do not have the power to erase mistakes but we do have today. Today is a gift from God and offers much to usToday offers a chance to learn from mistakes made on yesterday. Today gives us the opportunity to right a wrong. Today we can choose to become better. Do not let mistakes keep you from moving forward in life and doing great things for yourself and others.

Be blessed.
